Day 1: Morning Session
The good life is a lifestyle according to the spiritual and moral standards of the Godhead that we are created, with full authority over the world.
Genesis 1:26-28 Amplified Bible
26 Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.”(A) 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. (B) 28 And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.”
Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible
11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
God kept us on earth to manifest what he manifests, we are not to live below the standards of God. To know our purpose and live the good life, we must know our Creator on his terms.
The enemy would do anything possible to hinder us from enjoying the good life and so we have to be delibrate, and be conscious about activating what God has deposited in us. It’s also important that we make the rest of our lives the best of our lives.
The good life we are supposed to live should draw men unto Christ. We are to be examples of the good life to the world.
John 10:9-16 Amplified Bible
9 I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security). 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
11 [a]I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd [b]lays down His [own] life for the sheep.
12 But the hired man [who merely serves for wages], who is neither the shepherd nor the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, deserts the flock and runs away; and the wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them.
13 The man runs because he is a hired hand [who serves only for wages] and is not concerned about the [safety of the] sheep. 14 I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep. 16 I have [a]other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they will listen to My voice and pay attention to My call, and they will become [b]one flock with one Shepherd.
How to access the good life:
– Know that the good life is God’s plan for every believer
– All necessary provisions have been made for a believer to have a good life.
– The good life is God’s idea.
Ephesians 2:10 Amplified Bible
10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
– Obeying the word of God leads to living the good life.
Isaiah 1:19 Amplified Bible
19 If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the best of the land;
– Enjoying the good life is a conscious decision.
– Walking according to the principles of God guarantees the good life.
– Know that the blessings of the Lord are for his creations.
Deuteronomy 28 Amplified Bible
28 “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God.
3 “You will be blessed in the city, and you will be blessed in the field.
4 “The [a]offspring of your [b]body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your animals, the offspring of your herd and the young of your flock will be blessed.
5 “Your basket and your kneading bowl will be blessed.
6 “You will be blessed when you come in and you will be blessed when you go out.
7 “The Lord will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way but flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in [c]all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy [and set apart] to Himself, just as He has sworn to you if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk [that is, live your life each and every day] in His ways. 10 So all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will be afraid of you. 11 The Lord will give you great prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open for you His good treasure house, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. 13 The Lord will make you the head (leader) and not the tail (follower); and you will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen and pay attention to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today, to observe them carefully. 14 Do not turn aside from any of the words which I am commanding you today, to the right or to the left, to follow and serve other gods.
Hindrances to the good life:
– Ignorance
Ignorant of the finished work, ignorant of who you are in Christ, ignorant of God’s provisions for our lives.
Hosea 4:6 Amplified Bible
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will].
Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge,
I will also reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
An ignorant man is a dangerous man to himself and people around him.
– Lack of knowledge and inadequate skills necessary to excel in one’s area of endeavor.
– Poverty
State of being inferior in quality or insufficient funds.
An inch given to poverty leads to it’s dominion over us. Poverty is a curse and not a blessing. You must do all you can to reject poverty forcefully!
– Sickness
Sickness is not the will of God for our lives, it is not a benefit of abundant life. Divine health is the believer’s inheritance.
